Because essential oils are fat-soluble, their chemical compounds are easily absorbed by the skin and enter the bloodstream when applied directly. It takes 22 seconds for the molecules in an essential oil to reach the brain, 2 minutes for the molecules to be found in the bloodstream and 20 minutes for the oil to affect every cell in the body.
INTERNAL
Certain essential oils- more specifically, oils of such high quality, can be taken internally for amplified healing benefits. Because essential oils are highly concentrated and more potent than the whole plant material, one should be mindful of their intake, small amounts of internal use are advised.
